The Project
Based in the heart of the Timaru CBD, Mrs M’s Cafe makes first-rate coffee, breakfast, and lunch as well as offering a range of cabinet food. We worked with them to develop a website that showcased their catering service, menu, and vibrant inner-city location.
Site Design
For the design of the site we went with a colour palette tied to the branding and physical space of Mrs M’s: white and dusky pink with an elegant charcoal grey for contrast. Our photography for the website covered interior and exterior shots, the fabulous food on offer, and of course a coffee or two (which we also enjoying sampling once our work was done.)
The layout of the site was kept clean and streamlined, without distracting elements or clutter. This would enable visitors to focus in on what mattered most: the delicious food and drinks. Likewise, we also kept the online menu simple, with plenty of white space and large enough text to enable easy reading on mobile devices.
To highlight Mrs M’s catering service, we separated this out to a new page, with eye-catching photos of food platters and fresh ‘feature’ products for visual attention. We also incorporated an online booking form to make it as easy as possible for Mrs M’s to gather the information they needed from customers. This included an event date calendar and a drop-down bar for the event type.
We love the outcome of this website and feel it really captures the light, fresh feel of Mrs M’s Cafe.
